A PERSON IS STRONGER
THAN ANY DIAGNOSIS
Keep in mind that the right to receive a palliative care is considered to be one of the human rights by the international law
WHAT IS A PALLIATIVE CARE?
We are activists, lawyers, doctors, patients, their relatives and friends. We want to protect the right of the palliative patients to have normal life until the last minute. Each patient should receive a palliative care and treat a pain! “STOPPAIN” designed to reach this aim.
STATISTICS ACCORDING TO HUMAN RIGHTS WATCH
According to the international human rights organization “Human Rights Watch” (“Uncontrolled pain”, 2011) and Ukrainian activists, in Ukraine every year about 428 000 people need effective analgesics and palliative care to relieve the symptoms of incurable diseases.
HOW IS A PALLIATIVE CARE PROVIDED?
It can and should be provided simultaneously with a treatment after receiving an incurable diagnosis. Such care doesn’t require a lot of money and can be provided in hospitals, clinics, hospices, nursing homes, medical and health centers or at home, thanks to a team of doctors, social workers and other professionals, whose care is so needed by patients with an incurable diagnosis.
